The School Uniform

We expect all children to attend with the proper uniform and adhere to our dress codes at all time. We appreciate the cost of uniform can be a challenge for families; we have a very well stocked second-hand uniform shop available from the school office – these items are great quality and offer terrific value.

The Role of Parents

We ask parents to support the school uniform policy and to ensure that their child has the correct uniform, and that it is clean and in good repair. If any parent has any concerns about the uniform policy, they should speak with the Principal. The Marton Academy welcomes children from all backgrounds and faith communities. If there are serious reasons, for example on religious grounds, why parents want their child to wear clothes that differ from the school uniform, the school will consider such requests.

The Role of Trustees

The Trustees support the Principal with the school uniform policy. It considers all parental concerns about the uniform policy and liaises with the Principal to ensure that the policy is fair and dealt with sensitively. It is the Trustees’ responsibility to ensure that the school uniform meets all regulations concerning equal opportunities. Trustees ensure that the school uniform policy helps children to dress sensibly, in clothing that is hardwearing, safe and practical.

Children Not in Correct Uniform

It is our expectation that all children come in the correct uniform. Should any parent not follow this guidance we will ask parents to comply and, if needed, arrange a meeting to discuss any serious reasons why correct uniform isn’t being worn.
